Travel Tour Nepal was founded in Kathmandu in 2002 by Pemba Sherpa, Dawa Tamang, and Karma Lama — three lifelong mountain guides who had spent over 40 combined years leading expeditions through the Himalayas.

Today we've guided over 5,000 trekkers from 60+ countries. We remain family-owned, locally-staffed, and community-focused. Every rupee of profit stays in Nepal.

We never compromise on safety. Every guide holds first-aid certification. We carry emergency oxygen, pulse oximeters, and satellite communication on every expedition.

We follow Leave No Trace principles, work with local lodges, pay fair wages to porters, and donate 2% of revenue to trail maintenance and reforestation.

100% of our staff are Nepali. We hire from local mountain communities, support village schools, and ensure trekking income reaches the people who live there.

Milestones

2002
Founded in Thamel
Three guides, two tents, and a dream. First season guided 12 groups on the EBC trail.
2007
NTB License Awarded
Received full Nepal Tourism Board certification and expanded to Annapurna region.
2011
1,000th Trekker
Celebrated our 1,000th successfully guided trek — all with zero major incidents.
2015
Post-Earthquake Rebuilding
Suspended operations for 4 months to help rebuild villages on our trekking routes.
2020–2022
Survived the Pandemic
Retained all staff, ran training programmes, upgraded all teahouse partnerships.
2026
5,000+ Happy Trekkers
Expanded to 48 routes, 3 offices, and a 4.9★ average rating across all platforms.
